Internal Critic Profile

The critic is not the truth about you. It is a voice with three tricks — and it uses the same three on every human brain.

What mine actually says

Not the category — the actual sentence. Write it the way you hear it.

It says…

It says…

Knowing the critic's moves gives you a fighting chance against it.

Catastrophizing

“Everything is ruined. This is the worst thing that has ever happened.”

Turns one bad moment into a permanent condition.

Globalizing

“I always fail. I never get it right. I am just bad at this.”

Turns one thing into every thing — always, never, everyone.

Personalizing

“Everything that went wrong is my fault.”

Hands you the blame for what was never yours to carry.

Honest AND fair AND kind, without punishment — not a cheerleader, not the critic in disguise. What would that voice say about the same moment? It does not have to feel true yet. Just write it.

Someone specific? An experience? You never have to answer this one.
